The leaves are acrid, antibacterial, antirheumatic, antiseptic, astringent, bitter, blood purifier, deodorant, diuretic, emmenagogue, hair conditioner, hair dye, refrigerant and sedative. It is one of the best and oldest natural hair dyes used in many parts of the world.
